These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mentia mobile application ("the app"). By using Mentia, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Mentia is an AI-powered study companion that helps you learn by generating summaries, flashcards, quizzes, audio lessons, and podcasts from your study materials. The app requires an active subscription to access its features.
2. Subscriptions
Plans: Mentia offers monthly and yearly subscription plans. Prices are displayed in the app and may vary by region.
Free trial: New subscribers may be eligible for a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial periods.
3. Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Abuse the AI generation features (e.g., excessive automated requests)
- Share your account with others or create multiple accounts
- Use the app to generate content for purposes other than personal study
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the app or its services
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on others' rights
5. Intellectual Property
Your content: You retain ownership of the study materials you upload. By using the app, you grant us a limited license to process your content for the purpose of providing the app's features.
Generated content: AI-generated study materials (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, audio) are created for your personal use. The app and its underlying technology remain our intellectual property.
6. AI-Generated Content
Mentia uses artificial intelligence to generate study materials. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should verify important information independently. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content.
7. Limitation of Liability
Mentia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data due to service interruptions or technical issues
- Academic outcomes or test results based on use of the app
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated study materials
8. Service Availability
We aim to keep Mentia available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Scheduled maintenance may temporarily affect availability.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved in accordance with the applicable jurisdiction.
