Mentia ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered study companion for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifiers provided by those services.

Study content: Materials you upload or create (text, documents, photos, audio recordings) are stored in our cloud infrastructure to provide the app's study features.

Usage data: We collect anonymized usage analytics such as quiz scores, study session activity, and feature usage to improve the app experience.

Subscription data: Purchase and subscription status is managed by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not store your payment information.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To improve the app and fix issues
• To manage your subscription status
• To process your content using AI services (OpenAI, ElevenLabs) for generating study materials
• To provide and operate the app's study features (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, audio lessons, podcasts)

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• RevenueCat — Subscription and purchase management
• ElevenLabs — AI voice generation for podcasts
• OpenAI — AI content generation (summaries, quizzes, flashcards, audio)
• Firebase (Google) — Authentication, data storage, cloud functions, and file storage

Your study content is sent to AI providers for processing. We do not sell your data to any third party.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard security measures. Data is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen. Account deletion permanently removes all your data, including:

• Your user profile and authentication data
• Audio files and recordings
• Quiz results and study progress
• All study materials and generated content

6. Children's Privacy

Mentia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Opt out of non-essential data processing
• Export your study materials
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Access your personal data

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
