Mentia ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered study companion for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Data We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and account identifiers. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifiers provided by those services. Authentication is handled by our authentication provider.

Study content (user content): Content you upload or create in the app (such as text, documents, photos, and audio recordings) is stored to provide Mentia's study features.

App usage & performance data: We may collect usage and performance data (for example: study activity, quiz results, feature usage, and crash/performance diagnostics) to operate, maintain, and improve the app.

Subscription information: Purchases and subscription status are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements and access. We do not store your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the app's features (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, oral exam mode, audio lessons, podcasts)
• Generate study materials using AI services when you request these features
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app (including bug fixes, performance, and reliability)
• Determine your subscription entitlement status

3. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate the app, including:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database/storage, cloud functions, and file storage
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management
• OpenAI — AI generation (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, etc.)
• ElevenLabs — AI voice generation for audio features

When you use AI features, relevant content you provide may be sent to these providers for processing. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Data Storage & Security

We store data using cloud infrastructure (including Firebase). Data in transit is protected using encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your stored content and associated account data. Some limited information may be retained where required for legal or compliance purposes.

6. Children's Privacy

Mentia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us.

7. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can delete your account in the app. You can also contact us to request access to your data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email.
